Beverly Wade, founder of Cluttergone answers the question everyone asks 'How did you get into clutter clearing?'.  

It was the autumn of 2004, and I was away on a mediterranean cruise.  I'd become friendly with the other guests around our dinner table and we decided to swap business cards, so we could keep in touch after the holiday. 

My new friend, who was an American from New York handed me her business card.  That was it - the 'lightbulb' moment.  I nudged my husband who was sitting next to me.. 'Derek, Derek, looks what Wendy does!' and showed him the business card.  'You could do that!' he said.  'I'm going to do that!!' I replied and the idea of a professional decluttering and organising service was born!  Cluttergone was launched in January 2005.

I feel truly fortunate that I have been given the opportunity to use the skills that I have learnt through life to help others.  For me, there is nothing more satisfying than working with someone to help them achieve more comfortable surroundings - to see them look, feel and even sound different because they have finally cleared their clutter.

Jo Kingston, Owner of Cluttergone has been a professional Declutter Consultant for 8 years, helping almost 200 clients. My whole life, visiting friends and family, I have always got a buzz from helping organise and declutter.

A few years ago, I was searching for a change in direction in my career. Something with more purpose that involved helping others. I happened to pick up a magazine and read an article on decluttering. At that moment, I knew this is what I wanted to do. I'm delighted I have been given the opportunity to make a difference to other people, offering hands on and emotional support to enhance their lives.
