Q&A
Q. I just can't afford to get you in - why aren't you a charity?
A. This is a question we have been
asked many times.
The grants that charities receive
come with provisos and requirements. In order to receive support, a charity has to follow the
rules set out by the funding organisations. Applying for grants and raising
money is a full time job. For many charities it is a highly paid job.
Q. Why don't you have links to the NHS?
A. At the
moment, the NHS in some local authorities is beginning to examine the issues
associated with clutter and hoarding, but there are no accepted protocols or
treatments. In 2012, when severe problems with clutter are formally recognised,
the NHS will be able to offer more direct support than it does
now.
